PayPal for customers who pay from abroad.

Tourists, overseas students and international clients often prefer to pay with PayPal. Connect your PayPal business app and MonoChat sends a PayPal payment link in the chat, then continues your flow when PayPal reports the payment captured. PayPal does not take AED through this connection, so set the order in a currency such as USD, EUR or GBP.

What it does for a UAE business

    Switch on Sandbox mode to test with PayPal sandbox credentials before going live.

How to connect it

  1. Add the payment system

    In Settings › Payment › Payment Systems, click Create and pick the provider from the list.

  2. Enter the details

    A Title for your own reference and the Client ID, Client secret and Webhook ID (switch on Sandbox mode to test) from the provider’s dashboard, then click Create.

  3. Turn on the currency

    Under Payment › Currencies, switch on the currencies you accept; with several systems, Set as Default on one.

  4. Use it in a flow

    The Send Payment Request node sends the link in the chat, and the New Payment Received event continues the flow.

Can I charge in AED with PayPal?

No. This connection accepts AUD, BRL, CAD, CHF, CNY, CZK, DKK, EUR, GBP, HKD, HUF, ILS, JPY, MXN, MYR, NOK, NZD, PHP, PLN, SEK, SGD, THB, TWD and USD. Use a UAE provider such as N-Genius, Telr or Ziina for AED.

Which webhook does PayPal need?

In the PayPal developer dashboard, create a webhook for PAYMENT.CAPTURE.COMPLETED pointing to /api/payment-system/paypal/webhook on your MonoChat address, then paste its ID in MonoChat.

Who sends the payment link?

The Send Payment Request node in your flows, or sector apps such as the hotel, garage and school assistants once a payment system is connected. You set the amount and currency and the link goes out in the chat.

What happens once the customer pays?

MonoChat records the payment and the New Payment Received event continues your flow: a confirmation goes out, the profile is updated or the team is told.
